In life drawing, we often rush to capture the entire body before the pose changes. In the process, we tend to overlook the individual forms—the torso, the hands, the jawline—omitting the unique character inherent in each one. Every single part of the body is a complex, beautiful, and wonderfully weird composition all on its own.
"Frame" Life Drawing is a session designed to break that rush. We invite you to experiment with scale and perspective by zooming into specific areas of the body, dedicating the entire posing time to exploring them in depth. Maybe you will see mountains in the breasts, canyons in the thighs.
Session Flow
Warmup: A few standard poses to wake up your hands and eyes.
Zoom-In: During the middle of the session, we’ll introduce “frames” to help you physically isolate, crop, and delve into the specific body parts you want to focus on. You have the flexibility to choose whether to use them or not. Alternatively, you can simply sketch all the poses without zooming in.
Whether you’re new to life drawing or a seasoned professional, whether you prefer representative or abstract, we welcome all levels, styles, and expressions.
